FGF activity is mediated by a family of type I transmembrane tyrosine kinases, which undergo dimerization and autophosphorylation after ligand binding. Five distinct genes encode closely related FGF receptors, FGFR1 through 5. FGFRs contain three Ig-like domains and a stretch of acidic residues between the first and second Ig-like domains. FGFR1, 2, 3, and -4 have a cytoplasmic split tyrosine-kinase domain, but FGFR5 does not. Multiple forms of FGFR1, 2, and 3 are generated by alternative splicing.

Detects human FGF R5/FGFRL1 in direct ELISAs and Western blots. In direct ELISAs and Western blots, approximately 65% cross‑reactivity with recombinant mouse (rm) FGF R5 and rmFGF R5 beta is observed and less than 1% cross-reactivity with recombinant human (rh) FGF R1 alpha (IIIb), rhFGF R1 alpha (IIIc), rhFGF R1 beta (IIIb), rhFGF R1 beta (IIIc), rhFGF R2 alpha (IIIb), rhFGF R2 alpha (IIIc), rhFGF R2 beta (IIIb), rhFGF R2 beta (IIIc), rhFGF R3 alpha (IIIb), rhFGF R3 (IIIc), and rhFGF R4 is observed.

They emit wavelengths compatible with commonly used fluorescent acceptor dyes such as BODIPY® (or BDY) and Janelia Fluor® dyes, FITC (Catalog # 5440), TMR and Cyanine 5 (Catalog # 5436). CoraFluor™ fluorescence is brighter and more stable in biological media than existing TR-FRET donors, leading to enhanced sensitivity and improved data generation.
