Western Blot: TOR/mTOR [p Ser2481] Antibody (9Y5P6) [NBP3-16907] - Western blot analysis of extracts of various cell lines, using TOR/mTOR (NBP3-16907) at 1:1000 dilution.Both 293T cells and NIH/3T3 cells were treated by IGF-1 (50 ng/mL) at 37C for 5 minutes after serum-starvation overnight. Secondary antibody: HRP Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG (H+L) at 1:10000 dilution. Lysates/proteins: 25ug per lane. Blocking buffer: 3% BSA. Detection: ECL Basic Kit. Exposure time: 3min.

Background: TOR

The mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) is a serine/threonine protein kinase which helps to mediate many cellular processes. Specifically, mTOR is invloved in the cellular responses to stresses such as DNA damage and nutrient deprivation. This protein acts as the target for the cell-cycle arrest and immunosuppressive effects of the FKBP12-rapamycin complex, making mTOR antibodies useful tools for a number of important research areas.
