Western Blot: AMFR/gp78 Antibody [NBP1-49986] - Detection of Human gp78 by Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation. Samples: Whole cell lysate from HeLa (5, 15 and 50 mcg for WB; 1 mg for IP, 20% of IP loaded) and 293T (T; 50 mcg) cells. Antibodies: Affinity purified rabbit anti-gp78 antibody used for WB at 0.1 mcg/ml (A) and 1 mcg/ml (B) and used for IP at 3 mcg/mg lysate. gp78 was also immunoprecipitated by rabbit anti-gp78 antibody BL10542, which recognizes an upstream epitope. For blotting immunoprecipitated gp78 were used. Detection: Chemiluminescence with exposure times of 3 minutes (A) and 30 seconds (B).

Background: AMFR/gp78

Autocrine motility factor is a tumor motility-stimulating protein secreted by tumor cells. The protein encoded by this gene is a glycosylated transmembrane protein and a receptor for autocrine motility factor. The receptor, which shows some sequence similarity to tumor protein p53, is localized to the leading and trailing edges of carcinoma cells.
