Immunoprecipitation:Aspartate beta hydroxylase AntibodyNBP3-30580] -Detection of human ASPH by western blot of immunoprecipitates. Samples: Whole cell lysate (0.5 or 1.0 mg per IP reaction; 20% of IP loaded) from HeLa cells prepared using NETN lysis buffer. Antibodies: Affinity purified rabbit anti-ASPH antibody NBP3-30580 (lot NBP3-30580-1) used for IP at 6 µg per reaction. ASPH was also immunoprecipitated by rabbit anti-ASPH.. For blotting immunoprecipitated ASPH, was used at 0.4 µg/ml. Detection: Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 30 seconds.

Background: Aspartate beta hydroxylase

Aspartate beta hydroxylase is thought to play an important role in calcium homeostasis. Alternative splicing of this gene results in five transcript variants which vary in protein translation, the coding of catalytic domains, and tissue expression. Variation among these transcripts impacts their functions which involve roles in the calcium storage and release process in the endoplasmic and sarcoplasmic reticulum as well as hydroxylation of aspartic acid and asparagine in epidermal growth factor-like domains of various proteins.
