FAQs for Human Brain Whole Tissue Lysate (Adult Whole Normal)
-
Q: I have a question regarding your product no. NB820-59177. I would like to use this lysate in an ELISPOT assay and I am not sure if this is possible. My particular question is if this product is sterile, i.e. can it be used for cell culture?
A: Unfortunately we have not tested this lysate for use in an ELISPOT assay or for use in cell culture. I would estimate this product not to be suitable for your assay as the buffer will contain a host of protease inhibitors and detergent. Buffer information: HEPES (pH7.9), KCl, Sucrose, Sodium deoxycholate, and NP-40 with MagCl2, EDTA, Glycerol, and a cocktail of protease inhibitors. As such live cells probably would not do well in contact with this buffer.
-
Q: Is there a recommended expiration date for the Human Brain Whole Tissue Lysate, cat:NB820-59177, Lot: B703069?
A: You should store at 2-8 degrees Celsius for continuous use within a day. For extended storage, freeze working aliquots at -70 degrees Celsius. Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Under proper storage conditions the shelf life is six months from the date of receipt.
-
Q: May we ask how much we shall load by using NB820-59177 as positive control in WB?
A: We recommend loading 10-20ug of lysate per well for Western blot.
-
Q: May we ask if the Human Brain Whole Tissue Lysate (cat. no. NB820-59177) is suitable for RNA extraction?
A: Unfortunately, we have not yet tested NB820-59177 in any sort of RNA extraction, so I do not have any data supporting that application. We have only used this as a control in WB and IP.
-
Q: We are seeking a normal brain tissue lysate for control of Parkinson’s disease. In your website, there is Human Brain Parietal Lobe Whole Tissue Lysate (Adult Parkinson's) 1.0mg (NB820-59414). If you have any normal brain tissue lysate, please let me know.
A: Please see this link to all of our normal human brain tissue lysates.
