WB: Preliminary experiments gave no signal but low background in HepG2 and human pancreas extracts at up to 1 ug/ml. Please note that we would not expect our standard WB protocol to reliably detect proteins as small as the predicted MW of approx. 9 kDa band according to NP_036517.

Background: COM1/p8

p8 protein is a nuclear protein with potent mitogenic activity that is expressed in the pancreas during acute pancreatitis. Cells that express p8 grow more rapidly than non-p8 expessing cells. p8 contributes to the metastatic phenotype.
