Western Blot: Cystatin-8 Antibody [NBP1-47219] - HEK293 lysate (10ug protein in RIPA buffer) overexpressing Human CST8 with C-terminal MYC tag probed with (0.3ug/ml) in Lane A and probed with anti-MYC Tag (1/1000) in lane C. Mock-transfected HEK294 probed with (1mg/ml) in Lane B. Primary incubations were for 1 hour. Detected by chemiluminescence.

WB: In transfected HEK293 transiently expressing human CST8 (myc and DYKDDDDK tagged), a band of approx. 23 kDa is observed. No bands are observed in mock-transfected HEK293 and the same band is observed using anti-myc tag antibody.

Background: Cystatin-8

Cystatin 8, also referred to as CST8, has a 142 amino acid isoform that is 16 kDa, and is involved in reproduction, especially pertaining to sperm development and maturation. Disease research is being conducted between Cystatin 8 and several diseases and disorders to determine the relation between the two. Some of these disorders include epididymitis, cerebral hemorrhage, melanoma, t-cell leukemia, cerebritis, and choriocarcinoma. This protein is not linked to any pathways, and is not known to interact with any other proteins at this time.
