Western Blot:[NBP3-30052]-Detection of human DEAF1 by western blot and immunoprecipitation. Samples: Whole cell lysate from HeLa, HEK293T and Jurkat cells. Antibodies: Affinity purified rabbit anti-DEAF1 antibody used for WB at 0. 4 µg/ml and 1 µg/ml and used for IP at 6 µg/mg lysate. DEAF1 was also immunoprecipitated by rabbit anti-DEAF1 antibody, which recognizes an upstream epitope. Detection: Chemiluminescence with exposure times of 30 seconds and 3 minutes.

Background: DEAF1

Transcription factor that binds to sequence with multiple copies of TTC[CG]G present in its own promoter and that of the HNRPA2B1 gene. Down-regulates transcription of these genes. Binds to the retinoic acid response element (RARE) AGGGTTCACCGAAAGTTCA. Activates the proenkephalin gene independently of promoter binding, probably through protein-protein interaction. When secreted, behaves as an inhibitor of cell proliferation, by arresting cells in the G0 or G1 phase
