Antibodies: Affinity purified rabbit anti-RCD8 antibody NB100-2273 (lot NB100-2273-2) used for IP at 6 ug per reaction. RCD8 was also immunoprecipitated by a previous lot of this antibody (lot NB100-2273-1). For blotting immunoprecipitated RCD8, A300-745A was used at 0.2 ug/ml. Detection: Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 3 minutes.

In the process of mRNA degradation, seems to play a role in mRNA decapping. Component of a complex containing DCP2 and DCP1A which functions in decapping of ARE-containing mRNAs. Promotes complex formation between DCP1A and DCP2. Enhances the catalytic activity of DCP2 (in vitro)
