The FBXO46 gene encodes a 603 amino acid long, 64 kDA F-box only protein 46 that functions as a substrate-recognition component of the SCF-type E3 ubiquitin ligase complex. FBXO46 interacts with genes SKP1 and COPS5 and is associated with myotonic dystrophy.
