Western blot: Approx 27 kDa band observed in Mouse Testis lysates (calculated MW of 27.7 kDa according to NP_073148.1). Some lysates showed prominent bands at approx. 24+38 kDa which were successfully blocked by incubation with the immunizing peptide and have been reported in the literature (Garringer et al,. 2008, PMID:18682534).

Background: FGF-23

FGF-23 (fibroblast growth factor 23) is one of three FGF family members that appear to play a role in endocrine metabolism. It is described as being a phosphatonin, a molecule that reduces circulating plasma phosphate. FGF-23 does this, in part, by blocking Vitamin D activation. Active Vitamin D promotes intestinal phosphate absorption.
