Western Blot: Glutathione Peroxidase 2/GPX2 Antibody (JE40-73) [NBP3-32390]

Western blot analysis on different lysates with NBP3-32390 at 1/1,000 dilution. Lane 1: SW620 cell lysate Lane 2: LoVo cell lysate Lane 3: HT-29 cell lysate Lane 4: AGS cell lysate Lysates/proteins at 20 µg/Lane. Predicted band size: 22 kDa Observed band size: 22 kDa Exposure time: 1 minute 17 seconds; 4-20% SDS-PAGE gel. Proteins were transferred to a PVDF membrane and blocked with 5% NFDM/TBST for 1 hour at room temperature. NBP3-32390 at 1/1,000 dilution was used in 5% NFDM/TBST at room temperature for 2 hours. Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG [HRP] Secondary Antibody at 1:100,000 dilution was used for 1 hour at room temperature.

Background: Glutathione Peroxidase 2/GPX2

Glutathione Peroxidase 2 is a member of the glutathione peroxidase family and encodes a selenium-dependent glutathione peroxidase that is one of two isoenzymes responsible for the majority of the glutathione-dependent hydrogen peroxide-reducing activity in the epithelium of the gastrointestinal tract. Studies in knockout mice indicate that mRNA expression levels respond to luminal microflora, suggesting a role of the ileal glutathione peroxidases in preventing inflammation in the GI tract.
