The gag gene of human immunodeficiency virus 1 (HIV-1) encodes a precursor protein known as Pr55Gag. The viral protease PR cleaves this precursor to generate p17, p24, p7, and p6 proteins which are required for virus particle assembly. p24 is a major viral core structural protein. Its measurement is commonly used as an indicator of HIV-1 infection and viral load.

Precision
Intra-Assay Precision (Precision within an assay) Three samples of known concentration were tested twenty times on one plate to assess intra-assay precision.
Inter-Assay Precision (Precision between assays) Three samples of known concentration were tested in twenty separate assays to assess inter-assay precision. Assays were performed by at least three technicians using two lots of components.

Recovery for HIV-1 Gag p24 Quantikine ELISA Kit
The recovery of HIV-1 Gag p24 spiked to levels throughout the range of the assay in various matrices was evaluated. Samples were diluted prior to assay.
| Sample Type | Average % Recovery | Range % |
|---|---|---|
| Cell Culture Media (n=4) | 100 | 93-105 |
Linearity
To assess the linearity of the assay, samples spiked with high concentrations of HIV-1 Gag p24 were serially diluted with calibrator diluent to produce samples with values within the dynamic range of the assay. Samples were diluted prior to assay.

Sample Tested: 293T human embryonic kidney cell lineVerified Customer | Posted 12/21/2020I used this kit to quantify HIV-1 Gag VLPs in cell culture supernatants. I adsorb the VLPs on polymer membranes and desorb them by vortexing/ centrifugation. I use HIV-1 Gag p24 ELISA kit to determine how polymer surface chemistry can be manipulated to control reversible adsorption and desorption of VLPs.
