Background: LINGO-2

LINGO-2, also known as Leucine-rich repeat neuronal 6C (LRRN6C), is a type I transmembrane protein in the neuronal leucine-rich repeat family. These proteins have a signal peptide, 12 extracellular leucine-rich repeats flanked by N-terminal and C-terminal cysteine-rich sequences, an immunoglobulin-like domain, a transmembrane domain and a short cytoplasmic tail. Human LINGO-2 is a 606 amino acid protein with unknown functions. It is highly conserved, sharing 99% and 98% aa sequence identity with canine and mouse LINGO-2, respectively.
