Detection of VEGF in U937 Human Cell Line by Flow Cytometry. U937 human histiocytic lymphoma cell line was stained with Mouse Anti-Human VEGF Alexa Fluor® 488‑conjugated Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # IC2931G, filled histogram) or isotype control antibody (Catalog # IC003G, open histogram). To facilitate intracellular staining, cells were fixed with Flow Cytometry Fixation Buffer (Catalog # FC004) and permeabilized with Flow Cytometry Permeabilization/Wash Buffer I (Catalog # FC005). Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF) is a soluble protein secreted by a wide variety of cell types. It binds to the receptor tyrosine kinases VEGF R1 (Flt-1) and VEGF R2 (Flk-1). VEGF stimulates vascular endothelial cell proliferation and is a potent inducer of angiogenesis. Several VEGF isoforms occur resulting from alternative mRNA splicing.
