Flow Cytometry: ICAM-1/CD54 Antibody (009) [NBP2-90585] - Flow cytometric analysis of Mouse ICAM-1/CD54 expression on BABL/c splenocytes. Cells were stained with purified anti-Mouse ICAM-1/CD54, then a FITC-conjugated second step antibody. The fluorescence histograms were derived from gated events with the forward and side light-scatter characteristics of intact cells.

Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence: ICAM-1/CD54 Antibody (009) [NBP2-90585] - Immunofluorescence staining of Mouse ICAM-1/CD54 in Raw264.7 cells. Cells were fixed with 4% PFA, blocked with 10% serum, and incubated with NBP2-90585 antibody (dilution ratio 1:60) at 4C overnight. Then cells were stained with the Alexa Fluor(R)488-conjugated Goat Anti-rabbit IgG Secondary antibody (green). Positive staining was localized to Cytoplasm and Cell membrane.

Background: ICAM-1/CD54

ICAM1 is a 85-110 kDa single chain type 1 integral membrane glycoprotein with an extracellular domain of five immunoglobulin superfamily repeats, a transmembrane region and a cytoplasmic domain. It shares considerable amino acid sequence homology with ICAM3 and with ICAM2. ICAM1 is expressed by activated endothelial cells. It is detected on cells of many other lineages (e.g. epithelial cells, fibroblasts, chondrocytes, B lymphocytes, T lymphocytes (low), monocytes, macrophages, dendritic cells and neutrophils), with lower levels that increase in inflammation. ICAM1 is also detected in some carcinoma and melanoma cells. Soluble ICAM1 is detectable in the plasma and is elevated in patients with various inflammatory syndromes. It is the receptor for rhinoviruses and malaria.
