Immunoprecipitation:KCNK5 AntibodyNBP3-30333] -Detection of human TASK-2 by western blot of immunoprecipitates. Samples: Whole cell lysate (1 mg for IP; 20% of IP loaded) prepared using NETN buffer from HeLa cells. Antibodies: Affinity purified rabbit anti-TASK-2 antibody NBP3-30333 (lot NBP3-30333-1) used for IP at 6 µg per reaction. TASK-2 was also immunoprecipitated by rabbit anti-TASK-2.. For blotting immunoprecipitated TASK-2, NBP3-30333 was used at 1 µg/ml. Detection: Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 3 minutes.

Background: KCNK5

KCNK5 encodes one of the members of the superfamily of potassium channel proteins containing two pore-forming P domains. The message for this gene is mainly expressed in the cortical distal tubules and collecting ducts of the kidney. The protein is highly sensitive to external pH and this, in combination with its expression pattern, suggests it may play an important role in renal potassium transport.
