Background: KLF8

kLF8, kruppel-like factor 8, is a 40kDa oncoprotein linked to activity of Src, FAk, PI3has k, cyclin D1, and SP1, among other factors shown in the development of cancers (1-3). As other kLF proteins, kLF8 has been associated with oncogenic pathways and elevated expression of kFL8 has been shown in human cancer cells as well as in primary tumor tissues (4). kLF8 also appears to be associated with differentiation not only of cancer cells but stem cells as well as a transcriptional repressor and activator. Specific mechanisms of kLF8 regulation of oncogenic pathways or in stem cell differentiation pathways remain to be clarified, making this kLF8 specific antibody an enabling tool for such research.
