FAQs for MCTS1 Antibody - BSA Free

Q: I am looking for MCT1 primaries in a chicken host.
A:
We don't have a chicken host antibody at this time, but we do have other MCT1 antibodies available. We will guarantee all species and applications listed on the datasheet, and if you have any additional questions or concerns on any of these products let me know and I would be happy to help, technical@novusbio.com.

Q: MCT1 has 500aa, but how come this antibody recognize ~20kD band? This 20kD band is either non-specific band or degradation form of MCT1. MCT1 antibody from Millipore says that it recognizes ~53kD band which is closer to its predicted 500aa molecular weight. Please explain and clarify this issue. Not sure which is right?
A:
Our MCT1 antibody with catalogue number NB500-128 is against Malignant T-cell-amplified sequence 1. According to the Uniprot listing for Malignant T-cell-amplified sequence 1, this protein has a theoretical molecular weight of 20.5kDa. You can see this information at the following link: UniProt Q9ULC4. The gene symbol for this protein is MCTS1. I am not sure which Millipore antibody you may have looked at. However, when I searched their website for MCT1 I saw a list of products for Monocarboxylate transporter 1, for which they provide the following Uniprot link: UniProt P53985 . The gene symbol for this protein is MCT1.
