IFN‑ gamma Inhibition of EMCV-induced Cytopathy and Neutralization by Mouse IFN‑ gamma R2 Antibody.

IFN‑ gamma Inhibition of EMCV-induced Cytopathy and Neutralization by Mouse IFN‑ gamma R2 Antibody.

Recombinant Mouse IFN-gamma (Catalog # 485-MI) reduces the Encephalomyocarditis Virus (EMCV)-induced cytopathy in the L-929 mouse fibroblast cell line in a dose-dependent manner (orange line). Inhibition of EMCV activity elicited by Recombinant Mouse IFN-gamma (1 ng/mL) is neutralized (green line) by increasing concentrations of Hamster Anti-Mouse IFN-gamma R2 Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB773). The ND50 is typically 0.2-1 µg/mL.

Applications for Mouse IFN-gamma R2 Antibody (MOB47)

Application
Recommended Usage

CyTOF-ready

Ready to be labeled using established conjugation methods. No BSA or other carrier proteins that could interfere with conjugation.

Flow Cytometry

2.5 µg/106 cells
Sample: This antibody has been shown to recognize mouse IFN-gamma R2 expressed on mouse T cells (Bach, E. et al., 1995, Science 270:1215). This application was not tested by R&D Systems.

Western Blot

1 µg/mL
Sample: Recombinant Mouse IFN-gamma  R2

Neutralization

Measured by its ability to neutralize IFN‑ gamma  R2-mediated inhibition of EMCV-induced cytopathy in the L‑929 mouse fibroblast cell line. Vogel, S. and M. Hogan (1995) in Current Protocols in Immunology. Ciocio, R. (ed); John Wiley & Sons, Inc. p. 6. 9. 1. The Neutralization Dose (ND50) is typically 0.2-1 µg/mL in the presence of 1 ng/mL Recombinant Mouse IFN‑ gamma.

Background: IFN-gamma R2

Interferon gamma Receptor 2 (IFN-gamma R2) is a type II transmembrane protein that associates with IFN-gamma R1 to form a high affinity receptor complex for IFN-gamma. IFN‑ gamma  R2 is required for signal transduction but does not bind IFN-gamma by itself.

Long Name

Interferon gamma Receptor 2

Alternate Names

AF-1, IFN-gR2, IFNgammaR2, IFNGR2, IFNGT1

Entrez Gene IDs

3460 (Human); 15980 (Mouse)
