Samples: Whole cell lysate (0.5 or 1.0 mg per IP reaction; 20% of IP loaded) from 293T cells prepared using NETN lysis buffer. Antibodies: Affinity purified rabbit anti-OXCT1 antibody NBP3-30384 (lot NBP3-30384-1) used for IP at 6 µg per reaction. OXCT1 was also immunoprecipitated by rabbit anti-OXCT1.. For blotting immunoprecipitated OXCT1, NBP3-30384 was used at 1 µg/ml. Detection: Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 10 seconds.

Background: OXCT1

OXCT1 encodes a member of the 3-oxoacid CoA-transferase gene family. The encoded protein is a homodimeric mitochondrial matrix enzyme that plays a central role in extrahepatic ketone body catabolism by catalyzing the reversible transfer of coenzyme A from succinyl-CoA to acetoacetate. Mutations in this gene are associated with succinyl CoA:3-oxoacid CoA transferase deficiency. [provided by RefSeq]
