Background: Plexin B2

Plexin-B2 is a member of the Semaphorin receptor family. The semaphorin family consists of membrane and secreted proteins involved in attraction and repulsion of neuronal guidance cues. Plexin-B1 is a transmembrane protein that can be cleaved coverting the single chain presursor into a heterodimeric receptor. It has been shown to bind Sema4D/CD100 and is involved in axon development in mouse embryos. Sema4D also plays a role in the immune system interacting with CD72. Plexin-B2s possible role in the immune system has not been characterized.

    • Q: I was wondering if you had an antibody that would recognize a fusion protein Plexin-B2? Our protein is from mouse Plexin-B2 (NP_001152993) amino acid Leu20-Trp1029. Do any of your Plexin-B2 antibodies recognize this amino acid stretch? I was hoping to use this antibody for IP.
      A: NBP1-43310 uses the extracellular domain of Plexin B2 as the immunogen. This region is amino acids 20-1197. It is not epitope mapped but this is the only product we sell that is within your amino acid range. Chances are it maps to your region but there is a slight chance it might map to amino acids 1029-1197.
