Proteins were transferred to a PVDF membrane and blocked with 5% NFDM/TBST for 1 hour at room temperature. The primary antibody (NBP3-32890) at 1/1,000 dilution was used in 5% NFDM/TBST at room temperature for 2 hours. Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG - HRP Secondary Antibody at 1:100,000 dilution was used for 1 hour at room temperature.

Background: Rad50

Rad50 is a 153kDa protein that associates with Mre11 and p95 (Nibrin) to form a multiprotein complex involved in the double strand break repair process. Upon DNA damage, the complex translocates to the nucleus of damaged cells, binds DNA, and displays numerous enzymatic activities that are required for nonhomologous joining of DNA ends. Overall, Rad50 is important for DNA double-strand break repair, cell cycle checkpoint activation, telomere maintenance, and meiotic recombination.
