Application Notes
WB: Approx. 38 kDa band observed in Jurkat lysates (calculated MW of 41.2 kDa band according to NP_003921.2). In transfected HEK293 transiently expressing SKAP2 a band of approx. 45 kDa is observed. This band is not observed in the non-transfected HEK293. The calculated An additional band of unknown identity was also consistently observed in Jurkat at 28 kDa. This band was successfully blocked by incubation with the immunizing peptide.

Background: SCAP2

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the src family kinases. This protein is similar to the src kinase associated phosphoprotein 1. It is an adaptor protein that is thought to play an essential role in the src signaling pathway in various cells. It inhibits PTK2B/RAFTK activity and regulates alpha-synuclein phosphorylation.
