Immunoprecipitation:SEC62 AntibodyNBP3-29517] -Detection of human Sec62 by western blot of immunoprecipitates. Samples: Whole cell lysate (1 mg for IP; 20% of IP loaded) from HeLa cells. Antibodies: Affinity purified rabbit anti-Sec62 antibody NBP3-29517 (lot NBP3-29517-1) used for IP at 6 µg/mg lysate. Sec62 was also immunoprecipitated by rabbit anti-Sec62 antibody. For blotting immunoprecipitated Sec62, NBP3-29517 was used at 1 µg/ml. Detection: Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 10 seconds.

Background: SEC62

The Sec61 complex is the central component of the protein translocation apparatus of the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) membrane. The protein encoded by this gene and SEC63 protein are found to be associated with ribosome-free SEC61 complex. It is speculated that Sec61-Sec62-Sec63 may perform post-translational protein translocation into the ER. The Sec61-Sec62-Sec63 complex might also perform the backward transport of ER proteins that are subject to the ubiquitin-proteasome-dependent degradation pathway. The encoded protein is an integral membrane protein located in the rough ER. (provided by RefSeq)
