Product Description

WWL 123 is an α/β-hydrolase domain 6 (ABHD6) inhibitor (IC₅₀ = 0.43 μM). Blocks PTZ-induced seizures in healthy mice and spontaneous seizures in R6/2 mice. Antiepileptic activity is independent of CB₁ and CB₂ receptors, but is GABA_A receptor dependent. Brain penetrant.

Other Information

There appears to be some confusion about the structure of WWL 123. Tocris sells N-[[1,1'-Biphenyl]-3-ylmethyl)-N-methylcarbamic acid 4'-(aminocarbonyl)[1,1'-biphenyl]-4-yl ester [1338574-83-6], which has been confirmed by the inventor, Prof B. Cravatt, as the correct compound. Other vendors sell the corresponding 3-yl regioisomer [1338575-41-9], which is the incorrect compound.
