ERK Inhibitors

Extracellular signal-regulated kinases are a group of mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPK) that mediate intracellular signaling. ERK1 and ERK2 (MAPK3 and MAPK1) transduce signals from growth factors and phorbol esters. They are expressed in all tissues, at varying levels. Upon activation by MEK, ERK1 and 2 translocate to the nucleus where they phosphorylate transcription factors such as Elk1 and downstream kinases such as p90 RSK.
