December 2017 Go Everywhere with Bio-Techne Travel Grant Awarded to a PhD Research Associate from the University of Texas at El Paso!

Bio-Techne launched its Go Everywhere Travel Grant Program which awards $1000 USD (or equivalent) to one researcher each month to attend the meeting of their choice. This grant program allows the researcher to attend more targeted meetings in their field and provides funding to support both small and large scientific associations that promote discovery and collaboration.

The recipient of the December 2017 grant is Jitian Li, a PhD Research Associate in the Department of Biological Science at the University of Texas at El Paso!

Jitian Li

Jitian Li, PhD Research Associate, from the University of Texas at El Paso is the December 2017 recipient of the Bio-Techne Go Everywhere Travel Grant. He has selected to attend AACR 2018 in Chicago, IL, USA.

Jitian has chosen to apply the grant to the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Annual Meeting in Chicago, IL in April 2018!

Jitian’s work is focused on Osteosarcoma. The goal of his research is to identify and characterize tumor-associated antigens (TAAs) as biomarkers of Osteosarcoma using a serological proteome analysis (SERPA) approach. The findings of his work have demonstrated that only some of these proteins can induce immune responses - and thus are potential diagnostic or prognostic biomarkers. In the future, he sees the possible use of customized TAA arrays for enhancing anti-TAA antibody detection and providing a powerful tool for Osteosarcoma diagnosis.

Jitian utilized many R&D Systems® antibodies in his western blots and ELISAs. Bio-Techne and our brands are proud to support Jitian’s work and the work of many of the researchers that have applied to our travel grants so far this year.
