Scientific Data Images for Human PSCA Antibody

PSCA antibody in Human Prostate by Immunohistochemistry (IHC-P).

PSCA in Human Prostate.

PSCA was detected in immersion fixed paraffin-embedded sections of human prostate using Mouse Anti-Human PSCA Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB7636) at 15 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C. Tissue was stained using the Anti-Mouse HRP-DAB Cell & Tissue Staining Kit (brown; Catalog # CTS002) and counterstained with hematoxylin (blue). Specific staining was localized to the cell membranes of epithelial cells. View our protocol for Chromogenic IHC Staining of Paraffin-embedded Tissue Sections.

Background: PSCA

PSCA (prostate stem cell antigen) is a glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored cell surface protein of the Thy-1/Ly-6 family. PSCA is expressed in differentiating cells and epithelial cells of the prostate, bladder, kidney, skin, esophagus, stomach and placenta. It may be up- or down-regulated in cancer and may promote or suppress the tumor, depending on location. Mature human PSCA (amino acids 21-95) shares approximately 65% amino acid sequence identity with mouse and rat PSCA.
