WB: Approx. 60+40 kDa band bands observed in A549 and HepG2 lysates (calculated MW of 64.9 kDa band according to NP_001660.2 and of 42.3 according to NP_033667.2). An additional band of unknown identity was also consistently observed at 35 kDa. This band was successfully blocked by incubation with the immunizing peptide.

Background: Arylsulfatase D

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the sulfatase family. Sulfatases are essential for the correct composition of bone and cartilage matrix. This encoded protein is postranslationally glycosylated and localized to the lysosome. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
