Western Blot: BRAP Antibody [NBP1-42696] - Whole cell lysate from HeLa (5, 15 and 50 mcg for WB; 1 mg for IP, 20% of IP loaded) and 293T (T; 50 mcg) cells. Antibodies: Affinity purified rabbit anti-BRAP antibody used for WB at 0.1 mcg/ml (A) and 1 mcg/ml (B) and used for IP at 3 mcg/mg lysate. BRAP was also immunoprecipitated by rabbit anti-BRAP antibody NBP1-42695, which recognizes an upstream epitope.

The protein encoded by the BRAP gene was identified by its ability to bind to the nuclear localization signal of BRCA1 and other proteins. It is a cytoplasmic protein which may regulate nuclear targeting by retaining proteins with a nuclear localization signal in the cytoplasm. (provided by RefSeq)
