WB: Approx. 120 kDa band observed in mouse and rat skeletal muscle lysates (calculated MW of 132 kDa band according to mouse NP_080477.1 and rat NP_001102005.1). An additional band of unknown identity was also consistently observed at 33 kDa. This band was successfully blocked by incubation with the immunizing peptide.

Background: CCAR1

CCAR1 was identified as a perinuclear phosphoprotein that regulates apoptosis signals in response to chemotherapeutic agents. Induction of apoptosis by CCAR1 involves the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), mitogen-activated protein kinase pathway and caspase-9 activation. CARP-1 has also been demonstrated as a suppressor of human breast cancer growth. CCAR1 is also known as cell division cycle and apoptosis regulator protein 1, cell cycle and apoptosis regulatory protein 1, CARP-1, death inducer with SAP domain, DIS, MGC44628, and RP11-437A18.1.
