Background: CCR6

CCR6 is a member of the beta chemokine receptor family, which is predicted to be a seven transmembrane protein similar to G protein coupled receptors. It is preferentially expressed by immature dendritic cells and memory T cells. The ligand of this receptor is macrophage inflammatory protein 3 alpha (MIP 3 alpha). This receptor has been shown to be important for B lineage maturation and antigen driven B cell differentiation, and it may regulate the migration and recruitment of dentritic and T cells during inflammatory and immunological responses. CCR6 has been reported to be expressed in intestine, colon, liver, lymph node, spleen, lung, blood, umbilical cord, placenta, skin, and pancreas. It has also been reported to be expressed in lymphocytes, T cells, and B cells.

FAQs for CCR6 Antibody - BSA Free

Showing  1 - 1 of 1 FAQ Showing All
  • Q: I am looking for an anti-bovine CCR6 antibody and I see your antibody below was raised in goat so may cross react. Do you know if it can be used in cattle for flow cytometry? CCR6 Antibody (NB100-713)

A: Unfortunately, the species that the antibody is made in is no indicator of the species it will react to. In this case, the immunogen for NB100-713 shares just 57% similarity with bovine CCR6, so this antibody will almost certainly not cross-react with bovine. In this case, the immunogens for NLS356 and NBP1-88565 shares 79% similarity with bovine and have the highest chance of cross-reactivity of any antibodies we carry, although this is still below the 85% that we generally prefer to recommend for cross-reactivity. These are the best two we currently have for your species.
