Flow Cytometry: CD35 Antibody (7G6) - Chimeric [NBP2-52667] - Flow-cytometry using anti-complement receptors 1 & 2 antibody 7G6 (NBP2-52667). Mouse lymphocytes were stained with an isotype control (panel A) or the rabbit-chimeric version of 7G6 (panel B) at a concentration of 1 ug/ml for 30 mins at RT. After washing, bound antibody was detected using a AF488 conjugated donkey anti-rabbit antibody and cells analysed on a FACSCanto flow-cytometer.

This antibody is Cytof ready. This chimeric rabbit antibody was made using the variable domain sequences of the original Rat IgG2b format, for improved compatibility with existing reagents, assays and techniques. This antibody binds mouse complement receptors CR1 and CR2, functionally blocking CR2 leading to suppression of a normal antibody immune response (see Heyman et al. 1990, PMID: 1695671)

Background: CD35

CD35 encodes a membrane glycoprotein found on peripheral blood cells, glomerular podocytes, and follicular dendritic cells. The protein is a receptor for complement components C3b and C4b and regulates the activity of the complement cascade. Variation in this protein is the basis of the Knops blood group system. The two most common alleles, F and S, differ by 8 exons and are thought to be the result of an unequal crossover event. A secreted form of the protein present in plasma has been described, but its full length nature has not been determined.
