FAQs for CD42b/GPIb alpha Antibody (HIP1) - BSA Free

Q: I want to buy the anti- CD42b/GPIbA monclonal antibody, which is used to inject into the mouse to make the animal model of thrombopenia. Can the anti- CD42b/GPIbA antibody(NB500-511) be used in this experiment?
A: NB500-511 inhibits the ristocetin-dependent binding of von Willebrand Factor (vWF) to platelets and ristocetin-induced platelet agglutination. I am not familiar enough with your thrombopenia model to say for certain if this antibody will work for you studies, but this should give you some insight as to whether or not it is suitable for your studies. Furthermore, this antibody does contain 15mM sodium azide which would have to be removed before injection. We have kits that will allow you to do this clean-up, if you are interested.
