Product Specifications
Immunogen
This affinity purified Cecropin B Antibody was prepared from whole rabbit serum produced by repeated immunizations with a synthetic full-length Cecropin B corresponding to a modified sequence from that which is found in silkworm: Lys-Trp-Lys-Val-Phe-Lys-Lys-Ile-Glu-Lys-Val-Gly-Arg-Asn-Ile-Arg-Asn-Gly-Ile-Val-Lys-Ala-Gly-Pro-Ala-Ile-Ala-Val-Leu-Gly-Glu-Ala-Lys-Ala-Leu. Description
This product was prepared from monospecific antiserum by immunoaffinity chromatography using cecropin B coupled to agarose beads followed by solid phase adsorption(s) to remove any unwanted reactivities. Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Rabbit Serum and purified and partially purified cecropin B

Application Notes
This product is useful for the detection of cecropin B in various immunological assays. This reagent has specific value for the study of cecropins in transgenic plants. The antibody may also recognize naturally occurring cecropin A. Cecropin B has been modified in some instances by substituting a single amino acid to render the molecule less susceptible to proteolytic cleavage.
