Immunoprecipitation: DNMT1 Antibody (1K5K8) [NBP3-15856] - Immunoprecipitation of DNMT1 from 300 ug extracts of Jurkat cells was performed using 3 ug of DNMT1 Rabbit mAb. Rabbit IgG isotype control was used to precipitate the Control IgG sample. IP samples were eluted with 1X reducing Laemmli Buffer. The Input lane represents 10% of the total input. Western blot analysis of immunoprecipitates was conducted using DNMT1 Rabbit mAb at a dilution of 1:1000.

Background: DNMT1

DNA (cytosine-5)-methyltransferase 1 (DNMT1) plays a role in the regulation of tissue-specific cytosine residue methylation patterns that are established during development. Spec ifically, DNMT-1 interacts with Histone deacetylases and other methyltransferases to preferentially methylate hemimethylated DNA in coordination with the methylation of histones.

Improper methylation patterns have been linked to certain human tumors and developmental abnormalities. DNMT1 antibodies are useful tools for DNA methlyation research and studies on certian cancer.
