Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence: FoxP2 Antibody (RAB-S249) - Chimeric - Azide and BSA Free [NBP3-20155] -

Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence: FoxP2 Antibody (RAB-S249) - Chimeric - Azide and BSA Free [NBP3-20155] - Immunofluorescence analysis of paraformaldehyde fixed HeLa cells on Shi-fix(TM) coverslips stained with the chimeric rabbit IgG version of RAB-S249 (NBP3-20155) at 10 ug/ml for 1h followed by Alexa Fluor(R) 488 secondary antibody (2 ug/ml), showing membrane staining. The nuclear stain is DAPI (blue) and the actin stain is phalloidin (red). Panels show from left-right, top-bottom NBP3-20155, DAPI, merged channels and an isotype control. The isotype control was an unknown specificity antibody followed by staining with Alexa Fluor(R) 488 secondary antibody.

Flow Cytometry: FoxP2 Antibody (RAB-S249) - Chimeric - Azide and BSA Free [NBP3-20155] -

Flow Cytometry: FoxP2 Antibody (RAB-S249) - Chimeric - Azide and BSA Free [NBP3-20155] - HepG2 cells were fixed using 2% PFA and stained with anti-unknown specificity antibody (isotype control, black line) or the rabbit IgG1 version of RAB-S249 (NBP3-20155, blue line) at a dilution of 1:100 for 1h at RT. After washing, the bound antibody was detected using a goat anti-rabbit IgG AlexaFluor(R) 488 antibody at a dilution of 1:1000 and cells analyzed using a FACSCanto flow-cytometer.

Background: FoxP2

FOXP2 encodes an evolutionarily conserved transcription factor expressed in fetal and adult brain. This transcription factor is a member of the forkhead/winged-helix (FOX) family of transcription factors, and contains a FOX DNA-binding domain and a large polyglutamine tract. Members of the FOX family of transcription factors are regulators of embryogenesis. The product of this gene is thought to be required for proper development of speech and language regions of the brain during embryogenesis. Although a point mutation in this gene has been associated with the KE pedigree segregating developmental verbal dyspraxia, no association between mutations in this gene and another speech disorder, autism, has been found. Four alternative transcripts encoding three different isoforms have been identified.
