Background: Hormone-sensitive Lipase/HSL

Hormone-sensitive lipase (HSL) is an intracellular neutral lipase found in a variety of tissues, but primarily in adipose and steroidogenic tissues. It hydrolyzes triglycerides into free fatty acids and cholesteryl esters into free cholesterol for steroid hormone synthesis.

HSL is the major enzyme responsible for the mobilization of free fatty acids from adopise tissue, and HSL antibodies are useful tools for lipid and metabolism research.

    Differentiated C3H10T1/2 cells were serum starved and then Treated with CL316243 for 15 minutes. Cells were lysed and lysates were run on a 4-20% gel, transferred to nitrocellulose membranes, blocked for 1hour and the blotted with pHSL (1:1000)
