Background: Integrin alpha E/CD103

CD103 has a unique and fairly restricted tissue distribution. It is expressed on almost all intestinal intraepithelial lymphocytes (IEL), on dendritic epidermal T cells (DEC), on subpopulations of peripheral T cells, and on distinct subsets of fetal, neonatal, and adult thymocytes. E-cadherin is the epithelial-cell ligand for CD103. The ordered expression of alpha IEL during thymocyte development (which occurs under the influence of the thymic epithelium), the high level of expression of alphaIEL on those peripheral T cells found in epithelial tissues (IEL and DEC), and the expression of CD103 on a subset of CD8+ lymphocytes responding to allogeneic epithelial cells suggest that CD103 may have a common role in the interactions of T lymphocytes with epithelia during T-cell maturation and effector functions. This antibody was produced from a hybridoma (mouse myeloma fused with spleen cells from a rat immunized with mouse mammary tumor cells.

FAQs for Integrin alpha E/CD103 Antibody (AP-MAB0828) - Azide and BSA Free

Showing  1 - 1 of 1 FAQ Showing All
  • Q: We would be interested in the following antibody from your company: NBP1-06674 However, it is not exactly clear to us, what your company means when it says mouse mammary tumor cells were used as immunogen. Does this mean that tumor cells overexpressing CD103 were used? Since mouse mammary tumor cells per se are not really an appropriate immunogen.

A: Our Integrin alpha E antibody NBP1-06674 was created using mouse mammary tumor cells known to overexpress the ITGAE protein. These were selected and cultured to produce this monoclonal. We fully guarantee this antibody to detect mouse ITGAE protein in FLOW, IHC-frozen tissues, and immunoprecipitation.
