Background: LEM3

The LEM3 (ANKLE1) gene encodes an ankyrin repeat and LEM domain-containing protein 1 that in isoform 1 is 615 amino acids long, 66 kDA and in isoform 2 is 575 amino acids long at 62 kDA. LEM3 interacts with the SUMO1, UBC, and RASSF5 genes. It has been linked to diseases such as breast cancer, venous insufficiency, ovarian Cancer, hepatitis b, and legionnaires' disease.
