Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence: MCAF1 Antibody [NBP2-97607] - Immunofluorescence staining of MCAF1 in U251MG cells. Cells were fixed with 4% PFA, permeabilzed with 0.1% Triton X-100 in PBS, blocked with 10% serum, and incubated with NBP2-97607 antibody (dilution ratio 1:200) at 4C overnight. Then cells were stained with the Alexa Fluor(R)488-conjugated Goat Anti-rabbit IgG secondary antibody (green). Positive staining was localized to Nucleus.

Background: MCAF1

MBD1-containing chromatin-associated factor (MCAF) is a 1270-residue mediator in the DNA methylation cycle of a variety of genomic functions. This nuclear protein will bind to the C-terminal transcriptional repression domain of MBD1 to form a blocking complex. This molecule will then prevent transcription from methylated promoters in a histone deacetylation-independent action (1).
