Immunoprecipitation: Methyltransferase like 3 Antibody [NB100-77310] - Detection of human METTL3/MT-A70 by western blot of immunoprecipitates. Samples: Whole cell lysate (1.0 mg per IP reaction; 20% of IP loaded) from HeLa cells prepared using NETN lysis buffer. Antibodies: Affinity purified rabbit anti-METTL3/MT-A70 antibody NB100-77310 used for IP at 3 ug per reaction. METTL3/MT-A70 was also immunoprecipitated by rabbit anti-METTL3/MT-A70 antibody NB100-77311. For blotting immunoprecipitated METTL3/MT-A70, NB100-77310 was used at 0.4 ug/ml. Detection: Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 30 seconds.

This gene encodes the 70 kDa subunit of MT-A which is part of N6-adenosine-methyltransferase. This enzyme is involved in the posttranscriptional methylation of internal adenosine residues in eukaryotic mRNAs, forming N6-methyladenosine.
