Background: POP1

POP1 (processing of precursor 1) is a subunit of both the ribonuclease P and RNase MRP holoenzymes which are involved in 5'-end maturation of precursor tRNAs (pre-tRNAs). POP1 has been found to be an autoantigen in patients suffering from connective tissue diseases.
