Application Notes
WB: Preliminary experiments gave an approx 30kDa band in Human Adipose, Brain and Liver lysates after 0.3 ug/ml antibody staining. Please note that currently we cannot find an explanation in the literature for the band we observe given the calculated size of 41.5kDa according to NP_005054.3. The 30kDa band was successfully blocked by incubation with the immunizing peptide.
IHC: In paraffin embedded Human Liver shows textured cytoplam staining in hepatocytes.
Flow Cytometry: Exclusively staining of HepG2 when mixed with Peripheral Blood Lymphocytes.

Background: SCD-1

SCD-1 encodes an enzyme involved in fatty acid biosynthesis, primarily the synthesis of oleic acid. The protein belongs to the fatty acid desaturase family and is an integral membrane protein located in the endoplasmic reticulum. Transcripts of approximately 3.9 and 5.2 kb, differing only by alternative polyadenlyation signals, have been detected. A gene encoding a similar enzyme is located on chromosome 4 and a pseudogene of this gene is located on chromosome 17. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2015]
