Q: I am interested in this SFRP1 Antibody (NBP1-51926). On its application, it said it can be used in ELISA and the peptide ELISA dilution 1:4000. I am a bit confused on the statement. I don't have the peptide, so won't use this antibody in any peptide ELISA. Has this been tested in a normal ELISA such as sandwich ELISA?

A: This product has only been tested in Elisa for detection of the peptide that is also available for purchase. However, I have found it has also been validated in IHC, so it should work in a standard sandwich ELISA to detect the endogenous protein and we would guarantee this.

Background: sFRP-1

SFRP1 (also known as FRP, FRP1, SARP2, Secreted Apoptosis-related Protein 2, Secreted Frizzledrelated Protein and Secreted frizzled-related protein 1) is a member of the SFRP family that contains a cysteine-rich domain homologous to the putative Wnt-binding site of Frizzled proteins. SFRPs act as soluble modulators of Wnt signaling. SFRP1 and SFRP5 may be involved in determining the polarity of photoreceptor cells in the retina. SFRP1 is expressed in several human tissues, with the highest levels in heart.
