Western Blot: SMNDC1 Antibody [NBP1-47301] - Samples: Whole cell lysate from HeLa (5, 15 and 50 ug for WB; 1 mg for IP, 20% of IP loaded), 293T (T; 50 ug), and mouse NIH3T3 (M; 50 ug) cells. Antibodies: Affinity purified rabbit anti-SMNDC1 antibody NBP1-47301 used for WB at 0.04 ug/ml (A) and 1 ug/ml (B) and used for IP at 3 ug/mg lysate. SMNDC1 was also immunoprecipitated by rabbit anti-SMNDC1 antibody NBP1-47302, which recognizes a downstream epitope. Detection: Chemiluminescence with exposure times of 30 seconds (A) and 3 seconds (B).

Background: SMNDC1

This gene is a paralog of SMN1 gene, which encodes the survival motor neuron protein, mutations in which are cause of autosomal recessive proximal spinal muscular atrophy. The protein encoded by this gene is a nuclear protein that has been identified as a constituent of the spliceosome complex. This gene is differentially expressed, with abundant levels in skeletal muscle, and may share similar cellular function as the SMN1 gene. [provided by RefSeq]
