FAQs for Syntrophin alpha 1 Antibody
-
Q: I would like to order a syntrophin antibody to use in drosophila fly model. Drosophila genome has only two syntrophins (when humans have 5). I am interested in syntrophin1 which is homologous to human syntrophins alpha 1, beta 1 and 2. You say on the website that you have monoclonal syntrophin alpha 1 antibody. Do you have information against which syntrophin peptide this antibody works? I need to make sure that this specific clone that you cell on the website would recognize syntrophin 1 in drosophila. For this I need to make sure that the peptide against which the a/b works is conserved. If this is possible, I would like to know all the syntrophins alpha and beta peptides against which you have antibodies available. Then I can find among those the peptide which is conserved in drosophila and order that specific antibody. Like here NBP2-03302. It is written that the antibody was produced using the whole syntrophin protein for immunization. But the final a/b on sale is monoclonal. As understand, it means that you selected a specific clone, that recognizes a specific peptide in the syntrophin gene. Is there information available to which peptide this a/b is?
A: Depending on the particular antibody, different amounts of information are available about the immunogen and epitope. Sometimes, we cannot disclose details of the immunogen, because it is proprietary information. Sometimes we have not carried out epitope mapping, and are not sure of the epitope. For other antibodies, we know more or can disclose more information. The following antibodies include details of immunogen amino acid sequence on the website data sheet: NB100-1346, NB100-1364, NB600-1324, NBP1-59784. If you require more details about the immunogen/epitope of these or any of the other antibodies, I can make enquiries for you, but as discussed above I may not be able to provide further details
