Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence: TACE/ADAM17 Antibody (5A1) [NBP3-26523] - Staining of Hela Cells with TACE/ADAM17 Antibody (5A1) at 1:50, counter-stained with DAPI. The cells were fixed in 4% formaldehyde, permeated by 0.2% Triton X-100, and blocked in 10% normal Goat Serum. The cells were then incubated with the antibody overnight at 4C. Nuclear DNA was labeled in blue with DAPI. The secondary antibody was FITC-conjugated Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG (H+L).

Background: TACE/ADAM17

ADAM17 encodes a member of the ADAM (a disintegrin and metalloprotease domain) family. Members of this family are membrane-anchored proteins structurally related to snake venom disintegrins, and have been implicated in a variety of biologic processes involving cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions, including fertilization, muscle development, and neurogenesis. The protein encoded by this gene functions as a tumor necrosis factor-alpha converting enzyme; binds mitotic arrest deficient 2 protein; and also plays a prominent role in the activation of the Notch signaling pathway.
