ADCY6, also known as Adenylate cyclase type 6, consists of a 1,168 amino acid long isoform that is 131 kDa and a shorter 1,115 amino acid isoform that is 125 kDa, and is involved in the encoding of a membrane-bound enzyme. This protein has also been shown to have interactions with ATXN1, GNAS, CHRNA7, RAF1, and ADCY1 in the Signaling by FGFR, PKA activation in glucagon signaling, DAG and IP3 signaling, Regulation of Water Balance by Renal Aquaporins, and Opioid Signalling pathway. Disease research is currently being studied with relation to ADCY6 and cholera, ataxia, and adenoma.
